What is this LED Game Table?

In 2013 I found myself with a little too much free time, and came across an interesting microcontroller called an Arduino. This was my first experience with electronics other than simply software, and found myself looking for a fun way to build something hands-on.

I began the project by wiring up a strand of LEDs and then arranged them into a grid. I then started to think of the best device to interact with the lights, and hooked up a NES controller. I then built a wooden frame to hold the grid and wired it up to a controller board. The result was a simple LED game table that could display different patterns and respond to user input.

The table mostly collected dust after some time, until I decided to give it a new life by adding WIFI capabilities and a new codebase that could be controlled via a web interface.

The original codebase was hand-coded the old fashioned way, but the new codebase was mostly prompt-driven, using AI to generate the code using the old codebase as a starting point and then refining it to work with the new microcontroller. Dr. Mario and the LED Websocket server were both created using this new prompt-driven approach.
